Take a chance and say YES

Do you remember the most important decision you had to make in your life and you thought about it and you said NO. Do you regret that decision today or do you think you made the right decision. Do you look back and think about what life would be like for you today if you would of said YES?

One negative part of life is that most of our important decisions comes at a young age. Usually when we get out of High School is when life's decisions start. What college should I attend? What should I major in? Should I marry this person? Do I love him or her enough? Should I take this job or is there a better one waiting on me down the road? Should I take a year off from college and travel the world before I get tied down?

So many questions to answer without knowing when to say YES.

If I had time to write my life story, you would find out that I said yes to many things in life. I have traveled the world, met thousands of people, experienced life in a wonderful way and I one day said YES to my soul mate. I have started all kind of businesses, some ended soon and others lasted for a good while, but I said YES to the opportunities that was offered to me.

Did I make mistakes? The answer is YES. I have regretted some of my decisions? The answer is YES. Would I do them again? I don't know the answer to that because as they say hind sight is 20/20 but I learned and I experienced and I grew into what I am today. I have had my heart broken but I have also experienced true love and destiny.

People who say no to everything end up living a life of regret. Once they reach that age where there physical body says it is time to rest, they look back and wish they would of said YES more times in their life.

I remember once going to the airport with my wife. I was 28 and she was 21. We had no tickets, no reservations, only a bit of cash money and our credit cards. We had no idea where we were going, we just knew we wanted to go somewhere. I asked the guy behind the ticket counter, "If you could get on a plane right now, where would you go?" He said that his dream was to go to Rome and to spend a week at a small little bed and breakfast in front of the Trevi Fountain in the center of the old part of the city of Rome. We bought two tickets and got on the plane. That was the best week I have ever spent with my wife. We spent hours reading old books to each other and watching the people throw coins into the fountain from our balcony.

Some of you would probably say "That is so irresponsible." Maybe so but I am almost 40 and I have that memory that will last for a lifetime. Sitting in the moonlight with my arm around my wife on that balcony watching the moon, listening to the sounds of the pouring water from the fountain and listening to two old men, one playing and accordion and the other a violin, playing romantic songs is something I will cherish forever.

I will never forget sitting at an old roman cafe and an old lady out of the blue came up to me and said in broken english "the way you both look at each other has told me that it was destiny for you both to be together". I am not writing about love, I am writing about seeing life and experiencing it with your eyes wide open. Opening your heart and your mind and realizing that there are so many opportunities to experience feelings that will never be forgotten. All because I said YES.

Many christians live a dead life. They believe that the world is only what surrounds them. God has created so much beauty for us to experience. When is the last time you have seen a beautiful flower and you knelt down to receive the wonderful smell of that flower that God created? When is the last time you took your wife by the hand and you walked down a part through a wooded forrest listening to sounds of the birds, racoons, and other animals that God created. If you listen hard enough, you can almost hear the trees singing as the wind blows through them. God's creation has so much to offer but we have to say YES I want to experience it.

It is different for everyone but it is never to late. If you can walk, you can do it. There are so many things you can do that does no cost anything, just a little effort. You just have to say YES.
