Why Support Samaritan Revival

For sometime, I have been asking people to support the Samaritan Revival ministry. I have come to realize that I have probably not really explained why anyone should sacrifice their hard earned dollars to help our ministry. I hope to do this in just a few paragraphs even though I can tell you that you may not have the same calling as we do but we hope you can see the calling that God has placed on our lives.

To be totally honest, when I started the Samaritan Revival ministry, the only purpose was to use the group in evangelism in Central America. I figured that we would go to different churches that are part of the Good Samaritan Baptist Mission in Central America and hold revivals, youth meetings, etc. We did that and God really blessed. We saw many souls come to Christ. Having no financial support was really difficult because everything we did put a burden on our mission. Good Samaritan Mission was paying our expenses which included gas, food, lodging, etc. when we traveled. What many people do not know is that 90 percent of all the funds that are given to the mission is designated so even though the group was a blessing, it was also a financial burden.

Once the Lord opened the door to come to the states to help raise funds for the mission and especially the Opportunity of a Lifetime program, we started seeing many results as people started responding by sponsoring children. Over 400 families have sponsored children because of the ministry of the Samaritan Revival group. This is a tremendous blessing because these children now get to eat a good meal everyday, go to school, and best of all, they get to learn about the love of Jesus and how He died on the cross for them. God showed us that Samaritan Revival can be used for two purposes. One, to raise support for the mission work and for poor needy children, and second, to spread the Word of God through evangelism in Central America and anywhere else that the Lord opens doors.

Here has been our problem. Yes, God has blessed us in a great way by the results of funds being raised for the Opportunity of a Lifetime program. Yes, God has blessed in a great way by opening doors to new churches for the Good Samaritan Mission by using the Samaritan Revival group as a tool but we are still a financial burden for the mission because of the lack of support that we have been able to raise for the calling that God has given us.

Let me just say this, the mission is not complaining, they are very appreciative of the sacrifice of our group and especially the guys who leave their families for months at a time to travel thousands of miles. They love this work and this ministry and they are willing to sacrifice but we also need support to carry on with what God has called us to do. Now you know why I send out so many emails promoting the sales of Cd's and other things because I am only trying to raise funds so that we can pull our own weight.

Our desire is to be able to raise funds for the Good Samaritan Baptist Mission (which by the way, we are the only ones doing this right now) and also have enough support to work at least six months a year in evangelism in Central America without having to ask for funds from the mission which they do not have. Good Samaritan Baptist Mission already supports 40 feeding centers, 9 radio stations, hundreds of national pastors, 6 christian schools and the Good Samaritan Bible School. Samaritan Revival wants to be a blessing by continuing to help these ministries grow without being any type of financial burden.

We are not separate from the mission, we are a ministry of the Good Samaritan Mission but each ministry has to raise their own support for the well being of the work. There is so much that we can do but we need monthly support to be able to do it. The ministries of the Good Samaritan Mission needs us to raise support in the states for them but we need the finances to pay the expenses. There are many towns and villages in Honduras and Nicaragua that need the Gospel preached through large evangelistic campaigns but without support, it is very hard to accomplish.

I know that many of you already support one of the ministries of the Good Samaritan Baptist Mission and we thank you for that from the bottom of our heart. One person can only do so much but by partnering with us financially, as we travel from church to church, you will help us open the eyes of many people who have never heard of about our mission work. With your help, we can raise much needed support for all the different ministries in Central America.

Whether you are able to give FIVE DOLLARS A MONTH or ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS A MONTH, any amount will help. If you sponsor a child, you could give an extra 3 or 5 dollars a month toward the Samaritan Revival group. If you are a Pastor of a Church, you can ask your church to support our ministry monthly. If you love the Good Samaritan Baptist Mission, by helping us, you will be helping the mission.

If this sounds like a cry for help, it is. The Bible says in Luke 11:9 "And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you."

On June 28th, we start visiting churches once again for two months. We will be in around 35 churches representing the mission work. In September, we would like to be in Honduras holding evangelistic campaigns each week in a different village but we need your help. We need your monthly commitment. My father always said "you can't out give God". He will repay you for your sacrifice.

You can help us in two different ways.

You can either go to http://www.samaritanrevival.com and on the right hand side of the page, you will see three options on how to support our ministry. We have $5, $10, $20 a month. Just click the subscribe button on either one and follow the directions. Each month, the amount you choose, will be deposited into our account.

The second way is to send a check with the amount you would like to support each month with a note saying that you are going to support the Samaritan Revival Group.

The Address is:

Good Samaritan Baptist Mission
Samaritan Revival
P.O. Box 430
Villa Rica, Ga 30180

No amount is to small and you will be contributing to the growth of our mission.

Please pray about this and let us know.

May God Bless You,

Philip Tyson
